A Fresh Start

When Kelly reached out to me to take on this project, I was so excited due to the location and the exciting transition she was going through in purchasing a bigger office for her firm. Her staff had grown to where they needed more space, and this spacious but run-down farmhouse was perfect - it just needed some love to become what she wanted.

For this house, I wanted it to be a practical mixture of residential and commercial space - since it was indeed a house that we were turning into a law office. Each member of her firm spends a lot of time at their office, so Kelly wanted the transformation to become somewhere they were all excited to come to each day. She wanted an environment that was calming yet, sophisticated; an environment that represented the quality of service she provides to her clients.

She kept using the word “bold” in her initial requests, so the color palette was fun but traditional in keeping with the house’s original era. I always try to “do the house justice” and give each house what it deserves. The house had so much potential and charm that was just begging to come out. So, here we are today.

We added all new crown molding and box trim in the lobby and the hallways - new lighting fixtures all around, built-ins to create a cozy library, new flooring where there used to be outdated red and blue carpet, fresh new bathrooms, painted each corner and crevice - and… voilà. A fresh start for Cutler Law.
